This past week, 5 ladies from Immaculate Conception, Lansing, packaged over 80 layettes to be distributed to new mothers in need in the Allamakee County area. A layette is "a set of clothing, linens, and sometimes toiletries for a newborn child," and is a wonderful gift to a mother and new baby in need. The items for the layettes were purchased with monies from an Act of Kindness collection earlier in the year, so each of the parishes are contributors to this wonderful project! As we approach "Respect Life Month" in October, this project is a great example of how we can support and encourage mothers and their newborns, and truly put actions to the words "pro life"! Great job, everyone!
