Repent and Reset

REPENT and REDISCOVER was the theme I wrote about a few days ago in my website blog. I am praying that you are achieving success in your efforts to REDISCOVER that God alone can satisfy the hunger and thirst within yourself and every human heart.
Today my theme for this blog is REPENT and RESET.  I know that God wants all his beloved children to repent and reset their lives in order to draw closer to Him. In truth and in reality, the Lord calls us daily to greater holiness.
May we take this opportunity during the covid-19 restrictions and partial openings [in order to attend Mass as an improved person] to now RESET the following in our lives:    #the priorities that control our lives    #our lifestyle to be more authentically Christian    #the relationships we have with God & with Jesus, with spouse & a child or grandchild, as well as with a neighbor    #our daily routine so that it is more focused on God    #the  giving of our - time, talent, treasure, compassion, forgiveness, love    #our level of devotion    #growing in humility and humbleness    #doing good deeds & acts of kindness    #deepening our prayer life    # building a deeper intimacy with God - thereby seeking to draw closer to the Lord.
What I am suggesting is that perhaps it is time for us to hit the "reset" button in our hearts and lives ... never easy, but through the eucharist [participating in the Mass], through sorrow for our sins and celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation, [On Ash Wednesday every year these words are read from the prophet Joel: "Yet even now, says the Lord, return to me with your whole heart, with fasting, and weeping, and mourning. Rend your hearts, not your garments, and return to the Lord, your God." - Joel 2:12-13] through prayer, [St. John Chrysostom said, "(Prayer) gives joy to the spirit, peace to the heart.]" reading ans studying sacred scripture daily, praying the rosary ... we can receive the grace from God to reset our weary hearts and wayward lives. [Daniel said to King Nebuchednezzar, "... atone for your sins by good deeds, and for your misdeeds by kindness to the poor; then your prosperity will be long." - Daniel 4:24b]
A scripture passage that could summarize the theme of REPENT and RESET is when Jesus taught - Love your enemies, do good, share freely & generously, and ask for nothing in return. - Luke 6:35  The prayer that I offer is - May the Lord bless us, our families and world, and may the spirit of God flourish within our hearts.
