Sacred Writers Blog

“Whether we know it or not, writing is a spiritual practice. It’s a path to meet ourself.”

– Natalie Goldberg

The purpose of this blog is to share our stories as we travel through the churches of Allamakee County. Each church has it's own story--told in the walls, its windows, and the people who gather there. Our focus for the Sacred Writers Workshop is on God and how He reveals Himself to us today through His church in the forms of Sacred Art, Sacred Tradition, Sacred Silence, Sacred Music.

It's an invitation to the writer to see our churches with new eyes--new inspirations--as a place of deep faith, intimacy with Jesus, appreciation for sacred tradition, and as a rich heritage passed on from all who journeyed before us carrying their torch of faith.

It's an invitation for you--the reader--to share in our reflections, moments that made us pause, and the ways we see God alive in the Church today. We'd love for you to come along with us as we keep exploring, one church at a time.
